!!!EVENT CANCELLED!!!

REFUND INFORMATION

Thank you for entering the Three Peaks Trial Challenge Walk 2020. Unfortunately we have cancelled the event due to the coronavirus/Corvid 19 pandemic and now intend to refund your entry fees as soon as possible.

You will have entered in one of three ways: Either by PayPal until we switched to using the Fabian4 on-line entry service or By Post. We are offering entrants the following options:

For those who entered using the Fabian4 on-line entry service:

There are two options for all Fabian4 entrants:

  • Option 1 (Default) - Donate your entry fee to the Longtown Mountain Rescue Team - this is the default option and no action is required. Fabian4 will deduct their unrecoverable costs from your entry fee and donate all the surplus to the LMRT. As you know, the team is entirely supported by and reliant on charitable donations to continue its work.

  • Option 2 - A full refund. To claim this you need to access your Fabian4 entry details. If you no longer have the email that gives you access then re-request it from http://www.fabian4.co.uk/competitor/viewentry.aspx. Once on your entry details page, scroll down to the Cancellation Section at the bottom, and click the 'Confirm Cancellation' button. Fabian4 will then arrange for the refund to be credited back to the card account you used to pay for your entry. The refund must be claimed before midnight on 8th April 2020 deadline extended to 15th April.

For those who entered using the PayPal system or By Post:

We've set up a Google Form with refund options - Click Here to fill out the REFUND FORM or email us your preference. The options are also shown below:

  • Option 1 (Default) - Donate your entry fee to the Longtown Mountain Rescue Team - this is the default option and no action is required. We'll deduct from your entry fee either PayPal costs or postage costs (for those who entered by mail) and donate all the surplus to the LMRT. As you know, the team is entirely supported by and reliant on charitable donations to continue its work.

(For information, PayPal charge 2.9%+30p per transaction for the initial entry fee then, depending on how long ago people entered, PayPal have a further charge to issue the refund).

  • Option 2 - A full refund. To claim your refund you need to tick the box at the bottom of this email. Cardiff Outdoor Group will then arrange for the refund to be credited back to the card account you used to pay for your entry. The refund must be claimed before midnight on 11th April 2020 deadline extended to 18th April.

  • If you'd like to do a combination of Option 1 and 2 we can do that as well. Let us know in the 'Option 1 & 2 Combination' how much you'd like to donate to Longtown Mountain Rescue Team and we'll pass this on then return the difference to you.

We would like to offer our thanks for both supporting our event also your understanding with regards the current situation.

The Three Peaks Trial will now return on Saturday 27th March 2021 and hope you'll consider entering then.

Best wishes for your health and well-being in these difficult times.

Not much of a replacement for actually being at the Three Peaks around Abergavenny on 28th March but we've uploaded a few photos from a Blorenge webcam (which famously photographed a UFO in 2013).

!!!!!River Bridge Closed!!!!!
A long stretch of Glangrwyney Road has partially collapsed caused by the flooding which occurred during Storm Dennis. This road is the approach road to the only river bridge for miles. Walkers must use the diversion, Click Here For Details and Click Here For Diversion Route

The Three Peaks Trial is an organised challenge walk arranged each year in March by the Cardiff Outdoor Group. Since 2010 Longtown Mountain Rescue Team provide support with marshalls on all the mountain top checkpoints.

The Walk was first held in March 1963 and was designed for less experienced walkers who wanted to test their powers of endurance and skill at map reading. It is now the oldest challenge walk in the UK.

Over the years the event has been modified so in 2020 there is a choice of four other routes. The current four routes are:

The money raised in the 2019 Three Peaks Trial will be split between the Longtown Mountain Rescue Team, the National Trust, owners of Sugar Loaf and Skirrid Fawr, for footpath maintenance and at least one other charity (charity decided November 2019).

A leaflet for the event is available,Click Here For a webcam (updated every 15 minutes) showing Blorenge Click Here

Please note that we are unable to take any entries on the day.
