Walkers Comments:
Barbara Avery Just to say a big thank you to all you great volunteers on the event yesterday. A thoroughly enjoyable day, all made possible by you. I shall return to do the Gold route next time! Mark Ketteringham Just to say a really big thank you to you and your team, for organising another very enjoyable Three Peaks Trial, which my son, Stephen and I took part in yesterday. Slightly achy today, due to not putting in enough preparation, but we had a great time, and hope that we'll be able to join you again next year. Kate & Huw Williams We just wanted to thank you all for all your hard work in organising the Three Peaks. This was our fourth time but friends joined us for their first time and we all had a brilliant day. The event was so well organised and the COVID safety measures in place were excellent. All team members and volunteerS were happy, helpful and encouraging. Huge thanks to all. See you in 2022! Howard Davies My thanks to all the volunteers who did such a brilliant job of organising Saturday and keeping us going through the day. My first official Three Peaks and so was special. COVID All entrants WEre advised that if they test positive within 10 days of the event then they must let the organisers know. COVID RESTRICTIONS IN PLACE - FACE MASKS You must wear a face mask when inside the registration / finish buildings. This is part of your mandatory kit list. You also need to wear it if in close contact with any marshal (e.g. if you require first aid assistance). A buff is sufficient. THE CROWN PUB For walkers on Gold Route only, the Crown has requested walkers on the Three Peaks Trial do not use their facilities because of the Covid restrictions. However the checkpoint will have water available. GOLD and SILVER DIVERSION Glangrwyney Road and Bridge are closed due to an embankment collapse along the road and scour at the bridge caused by Storm Dennis in February 2020. A diversion was put in place: Diversion Map - The diversion is shown on: http://threepeakstrial.co.uk/Glangrwyney-Road-Diversion/glangrwyney-RD-diversion-map-2020.png As a consequence of the closure the Glangrwyney Road checkpoint was moved to grid ref. 264136 in Govilon and there was an additional checkpoint near Llanwenarth Church, grid ref. 270153. Water was available at this checkpoint.
WALKERS TAKING PART IN THE 2022 GOLD AND SILVER ROUTESHAD TO FOLLOW A MAJOR DIVERSION DUE TO ON-GOING BRIDGE CLOSURE FOR DIVERSION DETAILS SEE LINKS BELOW Road/Bridge Closure Information: A long stretch of Glangrwyney Road has partially collapsed caused by the flooding which occurred during Storm Dennis in 2020. This road is the approach road to the only river bridge for miles and is now closed. Walkers on the Gold and Silver routes must use the diversion, Click Here For Details and Click Here For Diversion Route |
